“ Perfect charming French restaurants in the West Village. Delice & Sarrasin offers diners French cuisine that is entirely plant based. We enjoyed all of our dishes but I especially enjoyed the Brie Roti Vegetal (creamy spread, lovely brie flavor) and the Hibiscus Ginger drink ”
“ Gorgeous quaint restaurant with beautiful cruelty-free French cuisine! We thoroughly enjoyed our dishes and wished we had second stomachs to try the many other options on the menu. A must-visit if you're in the area and looking to blow your tastebuds away with plant-powered French fare. ”
“ I’m French but I rarely eat French food to be honest. Mostly because I don’t eat meat anymore and most of the things are meat based. So I was very curious to try a vegan French restaurant. And you know what? It was a very good surprise. The restaurant is cosy and welcoming. I really liked the atmosphere! The food was also great and generous. My husband and I had the cheese platter and foie gras for starters which was delicious. Then cassoulet for him and poulet basquaise for me. Both were delicious and generous. For dessert we shared a crepe flambee which was a bit thin but good. We had a nice lunch here and are very pleased with the food quality and quantity. It was very tasty and service was quick and efficient. The only downside was that it was a bit expensive in my opinion. ”
“ The vegan escargot was INSANE. What a lovely lovely place! Lavender rice pudding was so delicious! Best French onion soup I've ever had! ”
“ Wonderful meal! Beautiful atmosphere! Vegan versions of French classics that blow your mind. French Onion Soup, Savory Crepe with cheese and chicken, Chicken in wine and mushroom reduction, TarTar that was lemony and tangy, then a rich Chocolate Cake and Hot Dark Chocolate!!! We thoroughly enjoyed!! ”
“ Having lived in France as a vegan, I was very pleasantly surprised to find Delice & Sarrasin and finally get to try French food! Everything we had was incredible: the french onion soup, the escargots, bouef bourguignon, steak frites and the star of the show, the creme brulee. The service was great, we had such a nice time dining here. ”
“ French cuisine has never tasted better and you don’t have to be vegan to enjoy. I had the coq au vin which is absolutely divine. We also had the Brie for an appetizer and my husband had the vegan duck and sausage. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. We will be returning again and again. Our new favorite French restaurant. Highly recommend. ”
“ Incredible dining experience ! Delice and sarrasin is such a gorgeous and comforting yet chic restaurant serving a huge variety of French dishes that look and taste so authentic while being vegan, my friend and I got the poached egg poulet basquaise crab cake and crepe crepe bordelaise, the poached egg was unbelievably realistic with the most savory mushrooms, the poulet was seasoned to perfection in a way that makes it not too heavy yet warming and the chicken itself had a tender but fibrous bite and a slightly caramelized skin that tastes more delicious than many faux meat, the crab cake was fried lightly and creamy with a refreshing sauce, and at the end, the crepe was not too sweet with a dollop of vegan icecream really making it a perfect treat! Price wise with the food being so well done, the prices are much more than reasonable especially since the service is attentive and quick, vegan or not this is one of the best restaurants in the city and certainly the best for classic french, without the animals is an added bonus - Update I went again and I can say with certainty this is my favorite restaurant in the city their coq au vin brie steak tartare and chocolate cake were absolutely divine and even my non vegan mother was impressed and said the steak tartare was as good as the real thing! Non vegans don't be afraid that this is vegan because you either can't tell or it is so delicious it doesn't matter! ”
